Rivus Batteries - finalist of E-Prize award in the Renewable Energy category!
Rivus Batteries is proud to be a finalist in the Renewable Energy category of the E-Prize, alongside Meva Energy and Raymond Solar. For the 16th consecutive year, the E-Prize—Sweden's largest energy innovation award—will be presented by E.ON, Aktuell Hållbarhet, and Dagens Industri.
This year's E-Prize is especially significant. The past year has been a challenging period for many green tech scale-up companies. The E-Prize aims to highlight and stimulate the innovations necessary for the energy transition.
The E-Prize is awarded in three categories: Energy Optimization, Renewable Energy, and Sustainable Transport. Each entry is assessed based on its level of innovation, sustainability potential, and market success potential.
Renewable energy:
Rivus Batteries
Rivus offers an innovative battery solution and has developed a cost-effective and environmentally friendly metal-free battery technology for flow batteries.
- “It is a very exciting company that works sustainably with the entire raw material chain. The technology is also free of critical mining minerals”, says Sara Frykstrand one of the jury members.
Raymond Solar
Raymond Solar has developed two products: a prefabricated solar cell roof ready for assembly and a battery solution for solar energy that withstands demanding climates, both for residential housing.
- “It's fun to have a Swedish solar cell player who also shows that you can make solar cells that are both stylish and efficient. They are forerunners both when it comes to solar cells and tomorrow's batteries”, says Christian Roos, also a jury member.
Meva Energy
Meva Energy supplies circular plants that produce biogas from biomass waste. They collaborate with Ikea to use furniture manufacturing waste, generating electricity and biochar, which offers natural carbon capture and storage (CCS) when used as soil improvement.
- “Meva Energy works with circular manufacturing industry and biomass and is an exciting representative of that field”, says Sara Frykstrand.
Sustainable transport category finalists: Logivity, Greater Than, and PowerCell.
Energy optimization category finalists: Kanthal, Pileus and Rebaba.
While only one winner will be chosen, all the innovations above — whether they are metal-free batteries (Rivus), carbon-negative bioenergy (Meva Energy), home solar panels (Raymond Solar) or in the other categories— are essential to accelerating the energy transition. Fingers crossed for everyone!
