Flow battery technology

Rivus’ organic electrolytes are drop-in compatible with existing flow battery hardware from European suppliers. 

Flow batteries are built for safe and reliable long-duration energy storage. Instead of storing energy inside the battery cell, they store it in liquid electrolytes held in external tanks.

This design makes it easy to scale both capacity and duration, supporting energy storage applications from a few hours to well beyond 12 hours—ideal for balancing renewable power and strengthening grid resilience.
