Rivus Batteries Wins Pitch Competition at TBB in Barcelona!
Rivus Batteries has secured first place at the prestigious pitch competition during The Business Booster 2024 (TBB), organized by EIT InnoEnergy. The event, held annually, brings together top players in sustainable energy and innovation.
The Rivus team, led by Dr. Cedrik Wiberg, Andreas Kölling, and Dr. Lisa Åkerlund, has dedicated years to developing a sustainable and efficient battery solution for future energy needs. "It’s a skill to create an innovative product and communicate its potential effectively to investors and partners" says Melisha Linnell of Founders Loft, an incubator supporting Rivus. "Rivus Batteries has shown they can do both, and we are very proud."
Connecting with leading energy investors and industry players
Attending TBB allowed Rivus to build connections with key investors, industry leaders, and renewable energy companies, including EDF, ENGIE, TotalEnergies, Breakthrough Energy, and CEPSA to mention a few. Discussing pilots, investment, and long-duration energy storage with these leaders underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in creating a resilient European energy industry for the clean transition.
120+ Startups in Tough Competition
The pitch competition at TBB featured over 120 startups, with Rivus ultimately taking the top prize. Nordic SeaFarm also impressed, finishing in the top 5, with PIONIERKRAFT and hysun securing second and third places.

• InnoEnergy’s ecosystem plays a central role in these transformative efforts.
The Rivus Batteries team is honored by this recognition and excited to contribute to Europe’s sustainable energy future.
